We are thrilled to see the completion of the Education Building! It has been an incredible journey to see how God has touched so many hearts to make this dream a reality!
On May 26, 2024 we officially inaugurated the building and the Island community was thrilled to be part of it. The day started off with a special church service, then a prayer over the building. Our Education Coordinator, Denis, as well as Community Outreach Director, Magdalena, shared some words of gratitude and background on this project. Afterwards there was a tour of the building so everyone could see things firsthand and also hear about the function and rules for each room within the center; our sponsored High School students helped to serve alongside us during this event as well. To cap things off we shared a light lunch with the community and simply celebrated this new space for the community to be part of.
We were grateful to have two of our Board members, Ron and Thomas, also take part in these events and they helped tremendously in getting ready.
As is customary in El Salvador, this building has been named “La Buena Semilla”, which means the good seed. This building will serve to plant the seeds of education and also the seed of faith in all who enter its doors. We cannot thank all of you who have prayed, supported, and generously given to establish this locale. Looking forward to watching these children and students flourish in a space all for them! Thank you!
